Light in the Darkness – Devlog #1 Game Location



_The Journey Begins_
Hello everyone!
Welcome to the very first development log for our upcoming horror-adventure game, **_Light in the Darkness_**. We’ve just started shaping the dark world you will soon explore, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our vision with you.
Our team is working actively on **brand-new 3D models**, from forest vegetation to environmental props, while also expanding and fine-tuning the **game map**.
This devlog will give you a sneak peek into the "opening location"– the very first moment you step into the unsettling world of Light in the Darkness.
First Location – The Nameless Forest
The story begins deep in an unnamed forest somewhere in the United States – a place surrounded by local legends: strange disappearances, frightening events, and whispers about a secretive cult said to haunt these woods.
You play as **[Hero’s Name]**, a newly hired night guard. After finishing your shift at 4:30 AM, you drive along an empty road cutting through the forest. The silence of the early morning is broken by a sudden, thunderous crash — a tree falls across your path, forcing you to stop.
Stepping out of your car, you check your phone — **no signal**. Ahead lies the fallen tree; to the right, a narrow, ominous path leads deeper into the forest. It’s your only way forward.
Into the Darkness
As you walk, the shadows grow thicker. Here you learn to use your flashlight — your first lifeline in the dark. Its beam cuts through the mist until you reach a small, abandoned wooden cabin, its walls worn by time.
What Awaits Inside
You push the door open. Hanging before you is an **old man**, lifeless — the cabin’s previous owner. Beside him rests a shotgun and a handwritten note, his final words before death: **[Note Text]**.
Before you can process what you’ve just read, a sound outside interrupts you — footsteps, faint yet drawing nearer. Whispering to yourself, you decide: _“Better to see what’s going on than to sit here with him…”_. You take the shotgun — and step back into the cold night.
The Encounter
On the forest edge, a majestic deer meets your eyes before running into the dark. You follow, only to stumble upon a nightmarish scene: hooded cultists in white robes and masks gathered around a burning wooden pentagram.
At its center stands a cross, and… something is bound to it — something that looks like a person. As you watch, a branch snaps under your foot. Ten masked faces turn toward you. _“Fight or run,”_ you mutter, before choosing to flee.
**This marks the beginning of your journey** through the shadows, uncovering secrets, facing danger, and deciding how far you’re willing to go to survive.
We’re thrilled to finally share the first glimpse of Light in the Darkness with you! In upcoming devlogs, we’ll explore more of the world, gameplay mechanics, and behind-the-scenes creations from our team.
